Surely I'm not the only person who watches as much of the Olympics as possible. I'm also probably not alone in watching the olympics on tv even though I rarely watch sports on tv unless at a party. There's just something special about watching the Olympics. That said, I think there are more people at Newsvine probably watching the Olympics than have let on so far. So why not get some discussions going? (It's like American Idol - there are many who watch it but don't admit they watch it.. until they read someone else's commentary and then they're all in their face correcting them. I set up a discussion earlier for the serious issues - protests, human rights, etc. This is a place to talk about the lighter stuff, from "can you believe these new swimsuits?" to "how do they get those graphic images on top of the swimmers and doesn't someone risk electrocution in the progress" to "Is it unAmerican to cheer on nations other than America?" Below are some random thoughts - partially because I'm scatter brained today - on waching the Olympics Sunday. I'll add thoughts below over timeFor weeks - ok, months - I've been trying to assemble the troops> writers to help cover and recap the Olympics. Jack Huang stepped up to the proverbial plate, doing a bang-up job here, here and here covering the opening ceremonies Friday. If anyone else has written stories on the Olympics feel free to link to that below.
