I've never seen rocking chairs in an airport before
Good to plan ahead, don't you think?
Things really are bigger in Texas. Witness this gas convenience store that included a Wendys, Subway, car parts store, a laundrymat
A cupcake place with a cupcake on top? Only in the south...

There are rocking chairs at the Charlotte airport (see photos) and damn straight I tried them out but it is hard to rock and type on a laptop at the same time.
There was a freakin' bathroom attendant in the guys bathroom – kinda freaks me out (no, I did not take photos of that - that would be too freaky even for me)
You don't have to tell them you want your tea sweetened – it's just assumed
I will add more throughout the weekend. I'm in a hotel room right now
Are you taking any videos? Have a great time.......say g'day from me.
Interesting photos Scott.

Oh we call them "Truck Stops"
I have not seen rockers in an airport before either, at least not the kind you sit in.
Any hangovers yet?

Sweet tea is the natural and preferred state of iced tea. One thing I've never figured out living up here in the north is why you people drink tea the way you do...
It's possible that the preference for unsweetened tea is what defines a northerner, so you and I are ok, Scott.
Griff... tea, is just not tea, unless its sweetened...btw...that is why all the women in Texas are so much sweeter :L)
Scott.... my case in point :L) Everything is better here :L)
Have a great time out there, Scott, sounds like a rousing Vinemeet. And thanks for the pics. I'll be checking in to see more...
Scott - glad you made it, thanks for keeping us posted.
Texas is sooooo big, lookin forward to more cultural exchange. You are now in the land of more friends. Yippey! oh, and the state sport is the Rodeo, be careful!
ORIGIN OF STATE NAME: Derived from the Caddo word tavshas, meaning "allies" or "friends."
They have rocking chairs at the Columbia, SC airport as well. Keep on rockin in the free world!
I could hardly hear, Scott, and I always understand the intent of that type of criticism anyway. I never "committed" to attending, and more or less always implied doubt about availability.
The truth is, if I'd had the energy to get there, I would have made it. I didn't. But I wish I could've!
Woke up Thursday morning. Worked from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. (Mental, blinding work, drawing AutcoCAD space plan and developing application.) Quit smoking after 20 years that day as well. Did not sleep one wink Thursday night thanks to.
Woke up Friday. 8 a.m. Drove to Dallas (60 Miles - Virtually every day). Finished work 11:30 p.m. (Physical work, moving capital investment trade floor 100 employees) Drove home (60 miles). In bed at 12:30, no cigarettes, no sleepy.
Up Saturday 5:30 a.m. In Dallas, 7:30, wife in tow. Worked reconnect technology until 5:30. Drove home, blind.
Smoking cigarettes today, gonna sleep tonight. Thank you for asking. Also, had no idea that
A. You lived in Maryland (How neat!), and
B. The Vinemeet was even remotely expecting me. I'd communicated rather clearly with Mel my apprehensions about availability throughout. The thing was scheduled before I ever joined the Vine!
C. It would seriously offend anyone, our not attending. Those who are within my inner circle understand the nature of my occupation, and my inability to commit to anything. I have to be available in revenue generating situations for my small company to thrive or even survive in this recession. I can never prioritize outside of that and my immediate family and I am sorry if that disappoints anyone.
Still yet, if I could've done anything about my blind tiredness, I would've been there.
Way too many apologies, Scott. You deserve to be flustered. I know when we get together for the next boogie, we'll have our ducks in a row and I'll be there.
I didn't even know there was a vinemeet. Must be a closed event.
Hey Darro. Sorry you are having a rough time of it. Hope it gets better soon.
Okay. Yes, I remember the articles now.
First time I have ever seen rocking chairs in an airport too!
Hope you're still having a great time! :o)
