My mission: To go to a Chinese buffet advertising all-you-can-eat and stay until I'm
either:
a) Kicked out
b) Have to go to another engagement
I've chosen a buffet with the best selection (sushi, yum, sesame chicken, yum) and
is closest to my next appointment, providing respite work at 4:30 p.m.
So if I leave now that gives me almost 3 hours. That should take care of lunch and dinner.
If this works well I might try a longer period next time.
This is not the first time I've done this although it's the first time I've written about it.
To me it's quite a logical idea: I need food and I need to sit and read and write. Why not combine
the two things?
If this goes as normal I will get more attention than usual from the staff as they come and look at my screen
but do not actually ask what they are thinking, namely, "What the hell do you think you're doing?"
After an hour they stopped automatically clearing my plates and/or offering refills.
The last time I only lasted two hours when I was thwarted by a simple move on their part: They took away my silver wear.
On reflection I'm sure I could have either found where they keep silver wear or switched to eating only items I can eat with a spoon.
Or - hits my head - grabbed chopsticks.
I think this time I'll grab an extra set of chopsticks as I enter to prepare that contingency plan.
